Safety & community standards

Peer support is not medical treatment.

Important: Through the Door Recovery is a peer-led recovery and integration community. It is not a medical provider, treatment center, psychotherapy practice, detoxification facility, crisis service, or psychedelic clinic.

Community standards

  • No selling or sourcing substances.
  • No telling another member what medicine they should take.
  • No medical advice or diagnosing other members.
  • No glorifying substance use.
  • No harassment or solicitation.
  • No recording meetings.
  • No sharing another person’s story outside the room.
  • No attacking someone else’s recovery pathway.

Share your experience. Don’t prescribe someone else’s.

When peer support is not enough

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, psychiatric crisis, severe withdrawal, or feel unsafe, use appropriate emergency or licensed clinical services in your area. Through the Door cannot provide crisis intervention.
